The role of the TVCRN board is to govern the organization. TVCRN believes it is accountable
to the general public because as a 501(c)3 charity, it does not pay taxes, and because generous
members of the general public make it possible for the nursery to fulfill its mission of
preventing child abuse and neglect. Because we are a member of the Oregon Association of
Relief Nurseries and a certified relief nursery, we are held to a standard of excellence in
everything we do.

Community members with a passion for our cause and the desire to commit time, talent,
and treasure, are encouraged to apply for board service. As an active board member, you
would be responsible for fiscal oversight, evaluation, fund-raising, and for establishing goals for
the nursery and its executive director.

In addition to monthly meetings, each board member is expected to serve on at least one
committee and to participate in some way with board-sanctioned fund-raising activities as well
as to make an annual financial contribution to the nursery. Serving on the TVCRN board is seen
as a privilege and an opportunity to help make a lasting impact in our community.
