What is ERDC?
How ERDC childcare supports families in Malheur County
The ERDC program is a statewide initiative that helps low-income working families and students pay for childcare. At TVCRN, we operate an ERDC-approved childcare center serving children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. Our classrooms are open Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., year-round. With small 1:5 teacher-to-child ratios, a therapeutic curriculum, and structured routines, children receive more than supervision—they experience learning, growth, and care in a safe, consistent environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers for parents considering ERDC childcare
What is ERDC and how do I qualify?
Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) is a state program that helps families pay for childcare while parents work or attend school. To qualify, you must meet income guidelines and show proof of employment or enrollment in education. Applications are available through the Oregon Department of Human Services.
What ages does the childcare program serve?
Our ERDC childcare program serves infants and toddlers from 6 weeks up to 3 years old. Once children turn three, we help families transition to preschool or Head Start programs so they continue to receive quality care.
What are the childcare hours?
Care is available Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We follow a consistent schedule with no drop-in option, which helps children build routines and gives parents reliable coverage for work or school.
Does ERDC cover the full cost of childcare?
ERDC typically covers most childcare costs, but some families may have a small copay based on income. The exact amount is determined by the state. Our staff can help explain the process and connect you to additional support if needed.
Can families without ERDC still enroll?
Yes. Families who do not qualify for ERDC may enroll on a private-pay basis if space is available. Please contact us for current tuition rates and enrollment options.
